Kyle's first day of FIRST GRADE!

Kyle started First Grade today! Here he is all ready to go.
That's his cool new first grade back pack. He's very proud of it, and he picked it out himself.

Hanging out in the fort

Kyle loves to build forts upstairs behind the futon, and Luke loves to take over!

Going for a walk

Here are some pictures from our walk to the park the other day. Mommy and Luke

All of us together. Thanks for taking the pictures, Jeff!

Peekaboo

Luke's favorite game right now is peekaboo.

He's just peeking through to make sure I'm looking.

Houston Dynamo vs. FC Dallas

We all went to see the Houston Dynamo soccer team play FC Dallas. Kyle had fun cheering and waving his banner to support the Dynamo, but the real fans were hard to match. They chanted and cheered and jumped up and down the ENTIRE game. No breaks at all. It was impressive!

Aunt Jodie and JR invited us to our first game, and we had a blast.

The Dynamo won 1-0. Yay!

Sock Puppets

Thanks to Tropical Storm Erin, it was raining all day today! Kyle and Luke had some friends over to visit, and we all made sock puppets.

Luke just thinks they are all funny!

Kyle's Trip to Brenham

Kyle went to Brenham with Poppop, Grandma Judy, and Aunt Jodie last week. Thanks to Jodie for sending me pictures! On a hot August day in Brenham, you have to visit the Blue Bell ice cream factory.

Kyle sampled freshly made cookie dough ice cream. Yum! Poppop and Kyle goofing around.
Next, they made a visit to Washington on the Brazos. Kyle tried on a coonskin cap in the gift shop.
Apparently he didn't like it, because he looked silly!
Here's Kyle and Grandma Judy learning about the birthplace of Texas on their audiotour.

Kyle got a boost up from Poppop to look inside Independence Hall.

Trip to the Zoo- August 7th

Kyle, Luke and a bunch of friends went to the zoo this week. Of course with that many kids in the picture, someone is either looking away or crying. So you can just look at both!

For Luke a trip to the zoo is snacktime, with entertainment.

That's an eagle's nest that Kyle and friends are climbing around in.

Work Party at Nana's- August 4th

Last week we had a work day at Nana's house. By the end of the day her gate was fixed, yard landscaped, garage door repaired, door knobs replaced, and of course some fun was had too! While the adults were working, Kyle had fun on the slip n slide in the back yard.
He even taught his cousin Riley how to slide. They had a blast!

Poppop's 60th Birthday!

We all celebrated Poppop's 60th birthday, aka Grandpa Bill. That's pecan pie he's displaying.
Luke tickled everyone, with some help from Grandma Judy.

Kyle, Luke, and the grandparents played with the train. Tragically the train derailed, but we all had a fun night anyways!
Happy Birthday Poppop!

Wow! It rained a lot in July!!!

Since it has rained SO much in July, we have been spending a lot of time reading indoors. So much so, that all my pictures lately are of the kiddos reading and being silly. Luke likes to read with an audience.
Luckily, Kyle and our friend Veronica both love to listen to him.

Kyle snapped this next picture of Luke himself. It's quite an improvement from his earlier work. Note how all of Luke's face is actually in the picture!

Of course they can also be pretty silly.
Luke wants to try to take a picture too.
After Dad took too many pictures, they had to come and find Mom.
